Capital International

Space at Work has had a longstanding service relationship with Capital International. As part of their business growth Capital Research and Management Company implemented the disaggregation of its equity investment operations into Capital Research Global Investors and Capital World Investors.

We were involved at an early stage; the aims of the project were to reorganize the whole of the 3 floors of 40 Grosvenor Place without the use of temporary furniture or moving the users more than once. Swing space was limited in the building and at no stage could departments or areas of the building be out of operation.

The plans were developed and a scheme was devised. The new furniture was ordered in sufficient time to meet the requirement of the programme. The site was divided into 11 work areas; each area had to be cleared of furniture prior to the construction works. Furniture was taken off site and stored at our project warehousing facility before a selection of new and existing furniture was picked and delivered for reinstallation to the completed zones.

The works started in December 2007 and were completed in October 2008. Space at Work provided all furniture related services for the project, removing and storing, inventory management, supply and integration of the new product, and delivery and installation of the final layouts. We also produced working installation and setting out drawings, allowing floor grommet and critical construction dimensions to be established prior to the installation of the furniture.

The project was completed on programme and under initial budgets. We worked closely with the client move managers and the contractor to ensure we maintained the complete and demanding move and installation programme.
